PSG: The highest-paid manager in Ligue 1, Luis Enrique is set to blow the competition away with a new astronomical salary!

In talks with PSG to extend his contract until 2030, Luis Enrique could see a massive pay rise. The Spaniard could become one of the highest-paid managers in the world.

His new contract is expected to reflect his status. Regarded as the “best coach in the world” by his president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, Luis Enrique is set to enter a whole new league in terms of salary.

Soon to be in the world’s Top 5

Under contract until June 2027, the Spanish manager is in talks with Paris Saint-Germain to extend his deal by three years, taking it through to 2030. Should an agreement be reached – which seems highly likely – the Asturian’s salary would skyrocket. According to L’Equipe, he would earn around €20 million gross per year, well above the €1 million that the former Spain manager currently receives in the capital.

With such a salary, Luis Enrique would join the top five highest-paid managers in the world, behind Diego Simeone (€29.8m, Atlético Madrid), Simone Inzaghi (€25.1m, Al-Hilal) and Josep Guardiola (€23.8m, Manchester City), but ahead of Mikel Arteta (€17.9m, Arsenal) . He would also widen the already massive gap with his Ligue 1 counterparts.

In Ligue 1, a gulf between Luis Enrique and the rest

Unsurprisingly, the former FC Barcelona manager tops the 2026 salary rankings for coaches in the French league, revealed on Thursday by L’Equipe. On €1 million gross per month, he already earns almost three times as much as Paulo Fonseca, who is paid €350,000 a month at Lyon. Habib Beye, who earns €230,000 a month at Marseille, is in third place. Bruno Genesio (€220,000) and Franck Haise (€180,000), in charge of Lille and Rennes respectively, round off the top five. Having taken over at Metz last January, Benoît Tavenot is the lowest-paid manager with a monthly salary of €25,000.
