Manchester United are looking to sign Aurélien Tchouaméni
In fine form with Real Madrid, Aurélien Tchouaméni is reportedly on Manchester United’s radar for the summer transfer window.
This season, Manchester United have come a long way. After a disastrous start to the campaign under Ruben Amorim, the Red Devils have turned things around with Michael Carrick’s arrival on the bench. Much more consistent and solid, the Mancunians have climbed the table and are well on their way to competing in the Champions League next season. Currently third in the Premier League, United must now hold on to their position to reward their great season under the former defensive midfielder.
Speaking of defensive midfielders, United will need to find one for next season. With Casemiro’s departure scheduled for this summer, the Old Trafford side are already looking at players capable of replacing the former Real Madrid man, who has been in impressive form this season. As a result, several names have been put forward. Whilst Elliot Anderson appears to be heading towards City, United are also keeping an eye on Sandro Tonali. As we reported exclusively several weeks ago, the name of Pape Gueye has also come up internally. However, a prestigious name has been mentioned this Monday by the English press.
Manchester United are eyeing Aurélien Tchouaméni
Indeed, according to reports in The Telegraph, Aurélien Tchouaméni is on Manchester United’s radar. Having enjoyed a superb season with Real Madrid, the former AS Monaco player is experiencing one of the best years of his career. According to the British media outlet, his future in Madrid could hinge on the potential arrival of Rodri, who remains highly regarded by the Merengues’ management.
Under contract until 2027, the 2024 Ballon d’Or winner could be one of Real’s summer targets. As such, Tchouaméni is a clear target for United, who will wait to see what happens in Madrid this summer. Under contract until 2028 with the Santiago Bernabéu side, Tchouaméni could be a major signing for the Mancunians, who are also looking to extend Kobbie Mainoo’s contract at the same time. Real Madrid’s dressing room snubs a Galáctico
Real Madrid are having a difficult season. Behind closed doors in the dressing room, one superstar is far from being universally popular.
Two stands, two atmospheres. Tonight, the Santiago Bernabéu stadium will experience a rollercoaster of emotions. First, there will be pride and joy as the U19s, crowned champions last night in the Youth League – the Champions League for that age group – are celebrated. Next, the spectators will welcome the first-team squad, who will take to the pitch for the first time since their Champions League exit against Bayern Munich last week. The Spanish sports press expects Álvaro Arbeloa’s side to be booed following another trophy-less season, as the La Liga title seems all but assured for Barça.
This is a disaster for a club of Real Madrid’s stature. All the more so as the Merengues have some very good players in their ranks, in whom they have invested heavily, whether in terms of transfer fees and/or wages. Among them is Vinicius Jr. The Brazilian is having a very strange season. During the first half of the season, he was not considered indispensable by Xabi Alonso, who took charge of the team and made Kylian Mbappé his leader. A very difficult situation for Vini Jr, who has clashed on several occasions with the former Bayer Leverkusen coach.
The dressing room has had enough of Vinícius Júnior
Following the latter’s departure in January, the Brazilian international has found his form again under Álvaro Arbeloa, who has taken him under his wing like never before. The two men have an excellent relationship. This has caused quite a stir within the Merengue squad. Mundo Deportivo explains that the Madrid dressing room has been struck by the rapport between Arbeloa and Vini Jr, who has become untouchable. Indeed, the Brazilian has missed just one match since his arrival. That was against Valencia, as he had accumulated too many yellow cards. One could say that Vini Jr’s integration is one of Arbeloa’s successes. But within the Casa Blanca, not everyone shares this view and some view this relationship with suspicion.
Because Vinicius Jr, one of the Galácticos in this squad, is wearing thin with the Madrid dressing room. MD reports that the squad is “exasperated by his behaviour”, particularly on the pitch. Whether it’s towards opponents, himself or his teammates, the players have had enough. Last Wednesday, Vini Jr lashed out at Jude Bellingham in Munich. “What do you want? Shut up,” he snapped at the Englishman. An example that reflects the tension within the squad and, above all, with the Brazilian. Under contract until 2027, he has still not extended his deal. A matter that is a priority for Florentino Pérez. Less so for his teammates and some supporters, who are calling for him to leave. It will all depend on the future manager, who will be joining a dressing room that is a real powder keg.
