During Thursday’s 3-1 Serie A victory over Como, AC Milan midfielder Adrien Rabiot stole the show. In addition to winning a penalty, the French international scored twice to secure the win for his team.

For AC Milan, Adrien Rabiot is already proving to be a golden opportunity. Unwanted at Olympique de Marseille last summer after a fight with Jonathan Rowe, the 30-year-old midfielder was signed for just €10 million.

And under coach Massimiliano Allegri, the French international is establishing himself as an indispensable asset for the Rossoneri.

Rabiot stole the show!

On Thursday, the former Marseille player was once again the architect of Milan’s stunning 3-1 victory over Como in Serie A. While the Milanese were also saved on several occasions by the impressive Mike Maignan, they were able to count on Rabiot’s attacking impact to secure the win. In addition to winning the penalty converted by Christopher Nkunku, the Frenchman scored twice: a cross-shot after a nice move in the box and then a long-range shot.

“Rabiot is one of the best midfielders in Europe,” Allegri immediately noted in his press conference. “From time to time, he gets annoyed about certain things, so he decides to do everything himself like a big player. Great teams are made up of great players, and Maignan and Rabiot are two of them.”

Italy at his feet

With his consistent performances, Rabiot is logically considered one of the major factors in Milan’s successful season, currently second in the standings. Named man of the match, he was praised by Como coach Cesc Fabregas. “We can only say bravo to him, as we do to Maignan. (…) Rabiot practically won the game single-handedly,” said the Spaniard.

Described as “monumental” by Sky Italia, ‘giant’ by Corriere dello Sport and “a true leader” by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Saint-Maurice native is simply unanimously acclaimed in Italy. Essential to his team’s good results, Rabiot proves his worth once again.
