Transfer news – PSG: Hakimi reportedly wants to return to Real
Having been at Paris Saint-Germain for five years, Achraf Hakimi is reportedly considering leaving the club. The Spanish press suggests that the right-back wants to return to Real Madrid, the club where he came through the ranks.
The story between Achraf Hakimi and Real Madrid may not be over yet. Having joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2021, the right-back has become a key player for the reigning European champions. But the 27-year-old’s name is regularly linked with his former club.
Eyes on the horizon?
Speculation over a possible return for the Moroccan international to Real Madrid has resurfaced in the Spanish press this Tuesday. According to Ramon Alvarez de Mon, a journalist for Radio Marca and Okdiario, the Paris Saint-Germain right-back is reportedly considering a return to the Madrid club, which he left in 2020 to join Inter Milan.
Several factors could explain this temptation. On the one hand, there is the desire to establish himself permanently at a club where he failed to break through during his first spell (17 first-team appearances). On the other hand, the presence of Kylian Mbappé, who is close to the player, could also tip the balance.
PSG will be hard to convince
Last November, the defender’s agent cast doubt on his client’s future by already hinting at a possible return to Real Madrid. “In football, anything is possible, and Real Madrid is his home, where he started out at the youth academy,” Alejandro Camaño told the Italian media outlet Sport Mediaset.
However, this situation looks set to be particularly complex. Indispensable to PSG, Hakimi is under contract with the Parisian club until June 2029. Under these circumstances, a move would only be feasible under very onerous terms, which Paris is unlikely to be inclined to facilitate for one of its key players. Put simply, the Lion of the Atlas is still a long way from Madrid.
